And so it begins... A New Chapter

The day has finally come and gone.... graduation from Nursing School!!!!!! I really didn't think I was going to make it the last two years.... as I have previously mentioned in other posts. It is easy to say that the last 2 years of school has been the hardest 2 years out of any college class that I have ever taken! And it's hard to imagine that we have waited soooo long for this day to come, and now that it's here, we aren't quite sure we want it. Funny how that happens.... I think a lot of it is the uncertainty and the unknown... am I going to be a good nurse? Do I really know what I am doing? Am I even ready for this?... I could go on and on, which is actually making me more nervous the more I'm typing about it. Well before I get really anxious about venturing off into the "REAL WORLD" of JUST having a job and not having a job and school, here are the pictures from this past Friday... I was so THRILLED that my mom and dad were able to come to Lubbock!! Such love and support!!!!!!! We had a wonderful time together and I was continually trying to bribe them with grandkids to buy a house here.... it hasn't work, yet.... =)

Well now that it's finally over, now we are off to the real world people!!!!! I am nervous and excited all at the same time!!! I officially start my job on June 7, and I can truly say I've kind of been at a lost for words on all this free time I've got!! It's definitely weird and I'm not quite sure what to do with it!! But it has been wonderful to hang out with Derryck and the pups... I could get used to this!!!! So here's to a new chapter on life.... getting a real job!!

LOST.... lost forever

The end to an era is here!!! Booo!!!!!! Last night was the series finale of Lost, only the BEST.SHOW. EVER!!!! Derryck and I are seriously obsessed with this show and had a definite sad moment when it was over. The show has been on for the past 6 years and it was beyond addictive! You just never knew what was going to happen next. During the this final season, a lot of things started to get pieced together. You really began to understand exactly what the island was all about. It was interesting to know that the writers left it up to the viewers on how they perceived exactly what the show was about. What I mean by that is the different views that people could believe about the show according to their own beliefs, religion and christianity. Derryck and I thought that the island was a sort of purgatory, there was the Black Smoke, the character Jacob ( who seemed like a sort of angel) and even the dialogue made you think..... and we could not figure it out for the life of us!! As you can tell in the picture, it's a mock of The Last Supper. Except for the fact that Locke (the guy in the middle ) was nothing like Jesus. In fact, the very opposite. We thought he was the devil, or something of that nature. Anyway, I really wasn't to thrilled about the ending. After watching this show for 6 years, I wanted MORE ANSWERS!!!!!!!!! If you haven't seen the ending, then I'm sorry to blow it for you, but they all ended up going to Heaven. Like I said,  a lot of things were open to interpretation and what you believe. I actually thought it was kind of nice to have a show on regular tv ,with such a massive following, end with such a religious ending.

Well we are soooooo sad to see it go and to be honest, I have no idea what we are going to replace it with! It really was an AMAZING show and I can't believe it's over!!!! We are lost forever!!!!!!!! It's been a good run!!!

A day to celebrate.... it's finally here!!!

Now definitely a night to celebrate!!!!!! I am finally DONE DONE DONE with nursing school!!!!!! I just took my last final today and boy did it feel GREAT!!!!!!!!!! What a relief!!!! All I have to do next week is walk across that stage!!!!!! So Derryck took me to this new place called Rain Uptown for dinner and drinks! And of course I have to celebrate the craziest, hardest and most challenging last two years of school with my MOST. FAVORITE. DRINK. EVER....... the famous Chocolate Martini. If you have never tried one, you HAVE to try it! It is just fabulous and worth every penny!!!!! Now I get to work my dream job that I've wanted for the past 5 years! God has truly blessed and opened up every door! And I couldn't have done it without my wonderful, amazing husby!!!! All those times that I've wanted to quit and said that it was too hard or I wasn't smart enough, he was ALWAYS there for support and encouragement, or a quick kick in my butt to get things in gear when I needed it!! I really couldn't have done it without him!!! i heart you d!!!

So as I am graduating next week and I've had some spare time, what have I started thinking about...?? Getting my Masters....!!!!!! HAVE I LOST MY MIND!!!!!!! I haven't graduated yet and I'm already thinking about more school.... seriously!! I swear I really am a Professional Student!! I will keep you posted on that note!! CHEERS TO NO MORE NURSING SCHOOL!!!!.... for now atleast... =)

the new home sweet home

So I promised our family members that I would post pics of our new place.... I didn't take pics of the bathroom, only due to the recent expansion and construction that we decided to do last minute... so it's still a work in progress!  Now as you can see there isn't a lot of decorations, probably due to that gene that I am lacking from my mother and to the lack of time that I have!! lol!! But it is quite cozy and comfy! We even have a couch!!!!! And yes, Derryck got a new tv! But I have to say it is nice!!! It even has the 3D capabilities!!! We haven't tried that yet, but it is one of the many things on our list to do! I think Boo and Charlie have adjusted and really enjoy the new place!! There is still some tweaking that we need to do, but it's home sweet home!!!! We are so thrilled that God has blessed us with an amazing place to live for super cheap!!!! It's a great stepping stone to be able to build the house of our dreams!!!!!!

I think they get a little bored staying in the room, but Derryck likes to entertain the little guy sometimes.... Just another day at the shop...... Before we know it, he'll be driving that thing!!! too cute!!

You are always there when we need a shoulder to cry on... or a kick in our little rear end!!!!!!! You are always encouraging and put your family first!!!!!!! We love you so very much that words can't even describe it!!!!! We are sad that we are not with you to celebrate how special you are to Derryck and me!!!!!!!
