A new beginning with ten little fingers and ten little toes....

I know what you're thinking... and no way jose... no babies for us..... but I did find out last week that I will be getting to spend the better part of my new life as a nurse with BABIES!!!!!!! And who doesn't love playing with those cute ten little fingers and ten little toes!!!!!!!!!! For most of you already know, I have been interviewing at the hospital that I currently work a couple of weeks ago. I originally was a little discouraged when there weren't that many job openings in the areas that I wanted to work.... but Derryck told me that it was good to have something to turn down than nothing at all... Sooooo I took my wonderful husbands advice and interviewed for the ER and the Critical Care Internship ( which is a 7 wk program and you rotate through MICU, SICU, BICU, and CICU)

The interviews went really really well and I was getting really excited about it.... Well low and behold my persistance PAID OFF!!!!!!! I had been calling the NICU nurse manager since October.... Yep October!!!! I really really wanted that job!!! And praise the good Lord who has already blessed me so much, she actually returned my phone call!!! ( She has been reeeeeeallly hard to get a hold of) Well she said that she would loooooove to interview me!!!!!! OMGSH I just about fell on the floor!!!!! This was my chance!!!!!! So I went into my interview knowing that there was such a high desire for recent graduates in that particular area... So I knew I had to put my game face on!!!!!!!!!! And boy did I come dressed and ready to put on my best interview EVER!!!!!! I knew that it was going to be about a week until I found out, so I was keeping my fingers crossed...

So while in Florida, anxiously awaiting a phone call, it rings!!! And apparently I got offered ALL 3 JOBS!!!! I was ecstatic!!!!!!! I didn't even know what to think!!! Well of course I didn't have to think really hard on what I wanted to choose!! So as of graduation from nursing school, I will be a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse!!!!!!! I get to be around babies for my job!!! Now I know that some days will definitely be hard, but I know that God has blessed each and every one of those little ones and has them in the palm of his hand. I am truly blessed that God has given me this wonderful opportunity! He has always known and will always know. He has opened all of these doors in my life and I know everything good comes from Him. I am blessed to be able to pray over each one of my little ones every day when I go to work. I am really looking forward to this new beginning of my nursing career and continuing to make a difference with God right beside me holding their ten little fingers and ten little toes!!!

The very last.....

We finally made it to spring break!!!!!!!!! But I have to say, I am a little sad that this will be the last "official" spring break that I will have!!! talk about a bummer!!!!! Well we had planned a family vacay to Ft. Lauderdale to see my grandparents. It was seriously the first family vacation we have all been on since we last went to Florida.... like 12 or 13 years ago.... So it was amazing that we were able to get together and  ALL go on this trip. And boy was I sure hopin to get some sun rays.... ummm yeah that didn't really happen! lol! Mom and I tried laying out one day, but then it ended up raining the next and then of course, it was BEAUTIFUL and sunny when I left. Funny how that always happens. Well I didn't get a good tan to show off to Derryck, but I did get some good quality time with the fam! I haven't been able to get myself to Houston since Thanksgiving due to school, so I know my mom was super excited to hang out. So for a final Spring break, it was a great family vacay!!!! Maybe next time we could go some place different.... hmmmmmm... I'm thinkin vegas????? haha... I know that will never happen!!! Well here are some pics!

Well now spring break is over.... back to school!!!!! Or what's left of it!!!!!!!!!!!! As I mourn the loss of my VERY LAST SPRING BREAK....... I am quickly reminded that there is ONLY 50 MORE DAYS UNTIL I GRADUATE NURSING SCHOOL!!!!!! I am countin down the days!!!!!!!

SOLD!!!!

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!! We're moving!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!! We officially signed the contract on Tuesday!!!! This cute couple with a daughter just absolutely fell in love with our house!! Well I think she actually fell in love with the closet and the decorations! Which I couldn't take credit for!!! I have to give credit to my most talented mom in law!!!! Everyone who has walked into the house has just LOVED the decorating!!!!  Well they came back a couple times and I guess really wanted it. Derryck and I weren't holding our breath considering we got an offer the week before and when we went to get contracts signed etc, the financing didn't go through! Boo!!! so this time we were a little apprehensive when it came to someone making an offer!!! And I guess it paid off!!!!! We close and have to be out on April 22!!!! wow that is approaching very quickly!!!! We will probably be out before that just so we wont be scrambling around!!! I still think I am in shock!!!! Someone's going to be a VERY LUCKY lady to have my closet!!!!!! (If you've seen my closet, you know why :)...)

I am planning on getting a better picture, but this is the picture of our future house!!!! Yeah it's just dirt right now, but just wait until you see what it's going to look like!!! It's going to be beautiful!!! Our friend Paul, ( who's genius idea this is for this concept) take a pic of every new house owner and frames it for the town center. He took this pic when we put down a down payment for the lot!!! We were soooooo excited!!!! And cold!!!!! haha!!!! But in all seriousness.... we are truly blessed!!!! We have been a little stressed with selling the house and cleaning all the time. Now we know that it was all in God's time, not ours! He is so amazing with everything he has done for Derryck and I! It is all through Him and our faith that we've come to this spot in our life where we are able to sell our house in this crazy real estate market ( and do For Sale By Owner for that matter) and build our dream house!!!!! We are truly blessed and give all the glory to Him!!!

We are so excited to get this project started and into the maddness of building a new house!!! We are really looking forward to the challenge!!! Stay tuned for future pics of our dream house!!!! On Sunday, a bunch of us girls threw Rainnie and little Hurley a baby shower!!!! Rainnie had decided to  not know the sex of the baby until the birth and......... SURPRISE!!!!!!  it was a little girl!!!! and they decided to name her Hurley!!!! Actually Ramon picked out the name, and what do you know... she's even got her own clothing line named after her!!!!! So this was the very first shower that was directed towards a little girl, so it was a very much needed one. Rainnie got a TON of stuff!!!!!! So overall it was a hit!!!! And little Hurley will look just fabulous with all of her Hurley attire!!!!

I had already made her some thank you notes with a picture of Hurley on it on photoshop.... so I guess it just goes with the territory of having a little newbie!!!! And boy does she look like her daddy!!!! I still haven't posted pics from when she was born and all of us at the hospital... it is on my long long long list of things for me to do!!! no surprise there!
